Antiperspirants contain aluminum, which works by blocking the sweat glands, hindering your body's natural sweating process. This can lead to a buildup of sweat, product, toxins, and bacteria which can result in increased odor for several weeks after switching to natural deodorant.
If this is your first time using deodorant without aluminum, it may take some time for your body to eliminate the buildup and regulate. Here's a timeline of what to expect during the detox period:
WEEK 1: Smooth transition. No unusual odor or sweat.
WEEK 2: Your body begins to sweat more as you secrete built-up toxins. May notice an odor.

Yes, you will very likely sweat if you use a natural deodorant like Just Ingredients Magnesium Deodorant. This deodorant does not stop sweat because it doesn't have an antiperspirant in them. The active ingredients in antiperspirants usually include aluminum-based compounds that temporarily block sweat pores. Just Ingredients deodorant is aluminum free and uses magnesium to help control the pH balance to lessen the odor and strength of the sweat. Sweating can be a great detoxer, you just don’t want it to stink. Use a deodorant to freshen up and keep stinky arm pits at bay.
You will very likely sweat if you use a natural deodorant like Just Ingredients Magnesium Deodorant, you just don't want to stink! Rather than add an antiperspirant like aluminum, I chose to use magnesium oxide which balances the body's natural pH while killing odor-causing bacteria. If you find yourself smelling a little more ripe then you prefer, apply another coat of deodorant to freshen up.
They are certified 100% organic from my manufacturing company. They aren't a brand available to the public because you have to buy in huge quantities for manufacturing.
Avoid applying too much deodorant to avoid staining your clothes. Yellow stains can also be a sign of aluminum detoxing from the body. If you need a stain remover for your laundry, I recommend Ecover, Puracy, or 7th Generation.

"I've used this deodorant since JI first introduced it yearrrrrs ago. I was so excited to get away from Secret Clinical as I had a bad problem with odor. Funny, once I quit using the toxic, endocrine disrupting deodorant, a lot of the odor issues went away. There was about a 2 week adjustment period for my body using the JI product, but after that, it's been amazing. This formulation of the product is a big improvement over some of the original iterations. One thing I do deal with is it leaving marks on my shirts, which I don't love. However, I recently discovered that using diluted dish soap helps break down that build up and my shirt is back to normal! HIGHLY recommend!!"
