FAQ's

Have more questions? Let us know!

The protein comes from 5 sources: 100% super high quality grass fed whey, pea protein, pumpkin seed, chia seeds and collagen. There is a lot less whey compared to normal protein powders so it may be easier on the stomach than other protein powders!

There are 4-5 sources of protein dependent on if the protein uses a vanilla base. Those protein sources are: chia seed protein, pumpkin seed protein, pea protein, collagen, and whey protein. They all have very similar amounts in the protein powder.

A lot of proteins use whey as the only protein source and it tends to upset peoples digestion. That’s why we used 4 different proteins in smaller amounts. We also use non-denatured whey which contains no casein and very little lactose, so many people who are sensitive to whey have reported that they are able to enjoy the Just Ingredients Protein Powder!

No. Processed stevia goes through a 42 step process, and can cause gut issues for some. We use straight stevia leaf crushed up which is completely different. It is from a wholesale company that provides to manufactures only. All of our ingredients are sourced that way!

The Just Ingredients Protein Powder does contain dairy which is high fodmap, but so many people with lactose issues have reported that this protein does not upset their stomach!

2 years but it also freezes well. There are no preservatives so it is best if it is stored in the house rather than a hot garage.

It’s just a protein powder and not meant to be a meal replacement. Protein shakes lack the variety of vitamins and minerals required to make them a valuable food source. Protein shakes supplement the amino acid intake of a person.

The protein is for anytime if you want a protein-packed snack! Many people drink protein before or after their workout, or right before going to sleep.

Protein powder is great for those that have a hard time getting enough protein in during a day. Protein, fat, and carbs are the 3 macronutrients our body needs. Some don’t get enough protein in each day and a protein powder supplement can help. Do you know how much protein you eat per day?

Delicious pairing with my morning coffee

"I use multiple J. I. Protein powders throughout the week to add a morning protein boost to my coffee routine. The French Vanilla is creamy and more flavorful to me than the regular vanilla. In the photo I submitted - I just blended organic Fabula Buttery Caramel Coffee, 1 scoop French Vanilla protein powder, vanilla almond milk, and a titch of organic salted caramel creamer. You wouldn’t need to add creamer because the protein powder acts as a creamer - today I wanted a bit of Carmel taste mixed in. Usually I use the J. I. Salted Caramel protein powder in my daily coffee. That one is my favorite!"

Great ingredients, BUT overly sweet and Coconut-heavy

"I really love the ingredients and truly wanted to love this protein powder, but it’s just too sweet. I was also a bit disappointed with the taste - it leans more toward coconut than vanilla. I liked the idea of coconut milk being included in the ingredients, but it’s so powerful that you can barely taste the vanilla. The sweetness is over the top. I usually prefer monk fruit over other sweeteners, but in this case, it feels like too much was used. I also can’t use a full scoop because it’s way too sweet, which is disappointing since I wasn’t able to get the full protein amount per serving as I had hoped. Overall, the ingredients are high quality, but I most likely won’t be purchasing this again."

Q&A

What testing is done to check for lead in your products such at your protein powders? Following the recent Consumer Reports article there is cause for concern in many protein powders. Can you tell us if there is any lead in your protein powders and how you test for it? Thank you!
All our products are 3rd party tested! You can find the COA results available on our website under each product!
What is an appropriate serving size of this for a young child (3 years old) in a day? My son has this almost every day mixed into yogurt or a banana & nut butter breakfast bowl ~ it just occurred to me that I don’t know how much is really safe to mix in.
Thanks so much for reaching out! Our products are formulated for adult use, so we always recommend consulting your child’s pediatrician before giving any supplement to a 3-year-old. They’ll be able to advise on what serving size, if any, would be appropriate based on your child’s needs.
Is there free shipping on monthly subscriptions? If not, what is the monthly shipping fee for 1 package of protein powder?
Great question! Final shipping costs are determined at checkout, all US orders over $125 after discounts ship free.
Can this protein powder be mixed with coffee and does temperature of the coffee matter? I work early mornings and don't have time for breakfast so I'm trying to make the most out of my morning cup of Joe lol.
Yes, our protein can absolutely be heated without affecting its nutritional value. Whether you're baking, cooking, or mixing it into warm dishes or beverages, the protein itself remains intact and effective. That said, if you're using one of our blends that includes chia protein, we recommend avoiding high heat like boiling or simmering. Chia can become gummy or gel-like at high temperatures, which could change the texture of your final recipe. For best results, we suggest adding the protein closer to the end of cooking or keeping the heat at a moderate level throughout.
can i put the protein powder in coffee?
The protein can be heated without the protein being damaged. If it is brought to simmer or boil the chia protein can become gummy, so you won’t want to get it too hot.
