Frequently Asked Questions

Most powders rely on whey alone, which gives you one amino acid profile and tends to upset digestion in larger doses. We use four real food sources in smaller amounts for a fuller amino acid range that's easier on your stomach. Whey and pea support muscle, chia adds fiber, and collagen supports skin, joints, and bones.

Four to five real food sources, depending on the flavor: grass-fed whey, pea, pumpkin seed, chia seed, and collagen. We blend them on purpose, because no single protein covers everything. Together they give a more complete amino acid profile than one source could alone.

It's far less likely to. Most powders use only whey, and a big dose of whey alone is what bothers most people. We use four to five proteins in smaller amounts, plus non-denatured whey with no casein and very little lactose, so even whey-sensitive people tend to do well.

Barely. We use stevia leaf crushed straight from the plant, sourced through a manufacturer-only wholesaler. That skips the heavy processing most stevia goes through, and everything we use is sourced the same way.

Yum!!

"I’m obsessed with my morning protein shake!! Instead of going through the drive through for a coffee I can now have my chai and not feel guilty! Blends great with milk and ice in the blender, and tastes great!"

Lindsey B. (5/5)

My favorite!

"I blend this powder with spinach, frozen riced cauliflower, oat milk, some seeds, honey and a banana. It’s absolutely delicious, and by far my favorite I’ve tried so far!"

Taylor C. (5/5)

Strong spice but great mixer!

"I love all the JI proteins I’ve tried. I wasn’t sure based off the reviews for this one, but I’m glad I tried it! I always do mix and match for my morning protein coffees that I make. Half serving chocolate or vanilla(plant based), then half serving of whatever flavored whey/mixed proteins I feel like. This chai goes so well with my choco caramel chai, the vanilla oatmeal cookie chai, choco chai, you get it. It’s just the accent piece, like 2 baby scoops to the other flavors that get half a scoop. I love the creamy texture that JI add, like the little layer on top when blended. It’s not overly sweet which makes it a great add in too,"

Kelley H. (5/5)

Tasted like soap

"I got a few of the sample packs of protein recently. Chai was one of them. It tasted like I was drinking soap. I dumped it out and tried the vanilla bean one. That tasted the same way, but less soapy. I’m guessing I just got a bad batch of both of those flavors. I didn’t ask for my money back or a replacement because I don’t plan on trying chai again. But it looks like others actually like this one, so that’s great!"

Allie (1/5)

Mm. . . mm Great!

"This is too tasty to be this good for you. I have been around the block when it comes to protein powder and finding the balance between good and great is exceptionally difficult. Just ingredients has nailed the taste consistently and mix ability on this one! I hope to try all the flavors because darn these are delicious."

Douglas S. (5/5)

Love Snickerdoodles? Love this

"This cinnamony chai powder is very reminiscent of snickerdoodle cookies!"

Jennifer S. (5/5)

Amazing flavor and texture

"The flavor is amazing! I have been looking for. Chai flavored protein shake that is healthy, uses quality ingredients, has a smooth texture, and tastes great. I found it! Even my health coach said I found a really great protein powder!"

Q&A

Does this contain caffeine?
Our Chai Protein does not contain any caffeine!
Does using hot or warm milk degrade the ingredient nutrients. I prefer my chai warm and the instructions indicate ice, or cold milk?
Thanks for your question! Using hot or warm milk generally does not significantly degrade the nutrients in our product, so you can enjoy your chai warm without worry. The instructions often suggest ice or cold milk simply because the product mixes well and tastes refreshing that way, but warming your milk is perfectly fine and still delivers the benefits.
Can you list out the amount of each amino in these products, at least on the website, if not the bag?
Hi! Please reach out to our customer support team and we would be happy to provide further information about the amino acids in our Protein Powder!
Hi there! Why do some protein powders show "100% Grass-Fed Non-Denatured Whey Protein Isolate" and some just "100% Grass-Fed Non-Denatured Whey Protein"? Are not all of your protein powders specifically whey protein isolate?
Thank you for reaching out! We're always happy to answer your questions. When it comes to our protein products, here’s how it breaks down: All chocolate-based and pumpkin spice flavors use Whey Protein Isolate (WPI). All vanilla-based proteins use Whey Protein Concentrate (WPC). That said, we use a unique type of WPC—from New Zealand. Unlike standard U.S. WPC (which is about 80% protein and 20% carbs/fats), our New Zealand WPC is 90% protein with only 10% carbs/fats. It’s much closer in composition to WPI. We choose New Zealand WPC for its high quality, grass-fed sourcing, and superior nutrient profile. It’s also more bioavailable, meaning your body can digest and absorb it more easily.
